Grokipedia, the AI-powered online encyclopedia from SpaceXAI, appears to be updating articles once again after a months-long pause. In August, Lawfare reported that articles on Grokipedia hadn’t reviewed edits since April, but the platform’s live updates site is now showing various recent changes to pages — though as I write this, many are just a note that says “recheck all references and sources.”

The site seems to have become active again relatively recently. The page for President Barack Obama has a note that says it was “Fact-checked by Grok” two days ago, and the page for Elon Musk was fact-checked while I was writing this, within the last hour. However, the page for Honolulu, which I clicked on from Obama’s page, was last fact-checked 7 months ago, so it appears that not every page has a recent scan.
While writing this article, I suggested an update to the Gears of War: E-Day page to note the game’s October 6th release date, and Grokipedia accepted the suggestion and now lists the date. I also requested an article about Meta’s Muse chatbot, and that request is “In Review.”
SpaceXAI didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment, and Elon Musk still hasn’t posted on X about Grokipedia since February. (Musk claimed about a year ago that Grokipedia would be “a massive improvement over Wikipedia.”) However, Benji Taylor, the head of design at X and SpaceXAI, posted last week about Grokipedia, saying that “We haven’t forgotten about Grokipedia” and that “v0.2 will be better than ever” (even though v0.2 technically launched in November).
