Anthropic lets Claude users connect their bank accounts and ask questions about their money. The new feature, called Personal Finance, gives Claude read-only access. It can't move, manage, or invest funds.
The connection runs through Plaid, so Claude never sees a user's bank password. Users can break down spending by category, check upcoming payments, or ask things like "Am I spending more than I earn?" The feature is launching as a beta in the US for Pro, Max, and Ultra subscribers.
Anthropic says conversations in the Personal Finance section won't be used for model training. Users can disconnect their accounts at any time. The company also says it won't show ads or sponsored recommendations. Long-term, Anthropic wants to connect Claude with licensed financial advisors and regulated firms. OpenAI already offers a similar feature in the US called Finances.
